THE Master Plan for Delhi 2021 (MPD)-2021 will focus on improving the quality of life of the people of Delhi.
The strategies for this were discussed at a round-table seminar organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI).
"It is high time the character of Delhi is redefined with flexibility and rationality in land use planning and development to make Delhi a world-class city," said Mr Kamal Meattle, Chairman (Delhi Committee), PHDCCI.
The chamber lauded the Master Plan's stress on group housing along with a metro station at a walking distance from every neighbourhood.
Mr A.K. Jain, Commissioner (Planning), DDA, said: "MPD-2021 has mutually supportive infrastructure planning with financially viable community-driven management system. It will provide better infrastructure with stress on water supply, better sewerage, drainage, solid waste management, and power to the people."
The initial areas of concern by MPD-2021 are unplanned areas, such as JJ clusters, unauthorised colonies, and villages.
