Mumbai , June 23

KEI Industries Ltd, engaged in electrical equipment manufacturing, has hastened efforts to set up a Rs 70-crore facility to manufacture high-tension power distribution equipment so as to start production before the end of the current fiscal.

This will mark the company's foray into high-tension electrical equipment.

"We see significant growth opportunities in the high-tension power distribution segment in the wake of the projected growth in the domestic power sector," says Mr Rajeev Gupta, Director (Finance).

In the last fiscal, the company notched up sales worth Rs 230 crore, with a net profit of Rs 8.30 crore.
