JM Mutual to focus on equity portfolio

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , June 23

FOLLOWING a major internal research spread over one-and-a-half years, JM Financial Asset Management Pvt Ltd has decided to shift its focus towards equity portfolio from the debt segment, its Director, Mr J.K. Modi, said.

Of the Rs 4,200-crore assets under management, nearly Rs 4,000 crore were in the debt segment and around Rs 200 crore in equity. "We have decided to have a renewed equity focus and accordingly rebuild our equity team, which now has around 40 years of collective research experience," Mr Modi told mediapersons here on Thursday.

According to the JM Financial Fund Manager, Mr Sandeep Neema, it might take two-three years for the company to increase its equity portfolio to the level of 50 per cent of total assets under management.

The company's equity research team is currently in the process of finalising two more equity funds to be launched during the current fiscal, he said.
