Pune , June 27 TRYING to garner a market share in the furniture segment, which has an annual turnover of over Rs 20,000 crore, two entrepreneurs, Naushad Furniturewala and Faisal Hawa, have opened the doors of a new furniture mall, Asset, in Pune. Spread over 18,000 sq.ft and three floors, the duo has invested close to Rs 2.5 crore in the venture. The duo expects to breakeven by December 2006. Mr Naushad said the mall was opened keeping in mind the BPO, IT and ITES industries expanding by the day. "With IT parks as an added location, the spending power of the young has increased. Loans have also become easier and more accessible from the banks, the main reasons we are targeting Pune to begin with," he said. The furniture are imported from the Far East countries and are retailed by them in India, he said. The range of furniture caters to people across varied income classes and the aim was to have something to fit everyone's pocket, he said. Design, finish, quality, international look, durability and realistic pricing are a few of the possessions of our furniture.
