New Delhi , June 27

THE infrastructure committee of the Planning Commission is scheduled to meet here on June 30 to consider options for extending Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC) project to the airport here.

Sources said that at the meeting the funding patterns for the project and other details, including what route the metro should take, are also likely to be taken up.

The extension of metro rail to the airport was discussed at a meeting between the Minister for Civil Aviation, Mr Praful Patel, and the DMRC Managing Director, Mr E. Sreedharan, here today.

The restructuring of the Delhi airport is scheduled to begin soon. The empowered Group of Ministers (e-GoM) recently cleared the transaction document that is to form the basis on which the eight shortlisted bidders will put in their bids for the two metro airports of Delhi and Mumbai.
