Help centre for Excise, Customs

Our Bureau

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Central Excise and Customs, Visakhapatnam zone, is setting up a help centre from July 1 at Dutt Island, Siripuram Junction, to help assessees.

Dr T.V. Sairam, Chief Commissioner, Customs and Excise, told newspersons on Monday that help centres would also be set up at Vijayawada and Tirupati.

These centres would help the trade, especially small-scale entrepreneurs, in understanding the laws and complying with them. The emphasis would be on educating the trade and promoting voluntary compliance.

In the Visakhapatnam zone, 18 open houses have been conducted in the past one year to interact with the trade.
