British Airways to hike fuel surcharge from July 1

Our Bureau

New Delhi , June 28

BRITISH Airways today announced a hike in the fuel surcharge that passengers have to pay for tickets booked on long-distance flights from July 1 from $35 to $48.

This also means that passengers travelling on the Delhi-London-Delhi sector will pay fuel charge of $96 instead of $70.

Airline officials said that the hike was due to the global increase in prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF).

In the last few days the price has crossed $60 a barrel.
