Oil industry services declared public utility for 6 more months

New Delhi , June 28

THE Government has declared services in the oil industry as a public utility for another six months.

Services relating to the manufacture or production of mineral oil, motor and aviation spirit, diesel oil, kerosene oil, fuel oil, diverse hydrocarbon oils and their blends, including synthetic fuels, and lubricating oils will be public utility services for a period of further six months from July 16, 2005, an official release said. Any industry under the public utility service is supposed to give some notice period to the Government in case it wishes to call a strike.
