Chemicals DCW posts 11 pc growth in sales Our Bureau
Mumbai , June 29 DCW Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 21.02 crore for 2004-05, as against Rs 21.38 crore in the previous fiscal. The company registered a 11 per cent growth in sales, with the turnover increasing to Rs 769.67 crore from Rs 691.36 crore in the previous fiscal. The board of directors of the company declared an equity dividend of 12 per cent for the year. A company press release said the growth in sales was due to the buoyancy in caustic soda and soda ash segments, coupled with improved margins. The company is now considering conversion of its caustic soda plant from the present mercury cell technology to membrane cell. "Evaluation of this project is in the final stage and is expected to be completed over a period of 18 months. This will result in increase in caustic soda production capacity, apart from cost savings," the release said. The company is also evaluating a substantial increase in its yellow synthetic iron oxide and synthetic rutile production capacities.
