Chennai , July 1

ISOFT, the UK-based firm, has more than doubled the number of software application specialists in Chennai to 956 in the last one year.

The product development centre in the city where code development and maintenance for all strategic products is performed is now complemented by a new solution centre facility in Hyderabad. Together, these centres provide iSoft with competitive advantage in accelerating application development cycle times, allowing it to bring application solutions to market quickly, according to a company press release.

During the year ended April 30, 2005, the company increased its research and development expenditure to £18.3 million (£12.7 million).
