OIL and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has expressed interest for a stake in the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) gas find.
GSPC has struck gas with an estimated outflow of 20 trillion cubic feet in the Krishna-Godavari basin recently.
"It's a good discovery. If GSPC offers a stake, we will consider it," the ONGC Chairman, Mr Subir Raha, told presspersons here on the sidelines of a CII meet.
Mr Raha declined to make any comments on the company's reported move to bid for Canada-based oil producer PetroKazakhstan Inc.
Commenting on the ONGC's Rs 25,000-crore project in Mangalore, Mr Raha said the company was awaiting final approval from the Government. "We have presented our case to the Government and are awaiting its decision on it," he added.
As far as the Mangalore Refineries and Petrochemicals Ltd project is concerned, "We are working on expanding its capacity from the present 12 mt to 15 mt and will later add another 15 mt in a phased manner."
