THE Government has appointed Mr R.N. Das, Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution (Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution) on the retirement of Mr S.K. Tuteja on June 30.

Mr Das was hitherto Director (Enforcement), Department of Revenue (Ministry of Finance).

Dr J.S. Sarma was appointed as the Department of Telecommunications Secretary. Mr Sarma was the Special Secretary, Department of Telecommunications. Mr Brijesh Kumar, who is holding additional charge of Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, will revert to his original charge as Secretary, Information Technology, said an official release.

It also announced the appointment of Ms Satwant Reddy as Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals (Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers). Mr Ajay K. Dua, who is the Director-General, Employees State Insurance Corporation (Ministry of Labour and Employment) would join the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (Ministry of Commerce & Industry) as Secretary.

Mr D.N. Padhi, who is the Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, would join as Special Secretary, Ministry of Power, in place of Ms Gouri Chatterjee on July 31, it added.
