Pune , July 4

HEWLETT Packard India inaugurated its second premium retail outlet — Experience Zone (at the GJ Ghaisas store) here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Krishnan Varadarajan, General Manager - Consumer Sales, Hewlett Packard India Sales Pvt Ltd, said the HP Experience Zone is an attempt to provide consumers with an interactive and informative shopping experience. Essentially, the outlet would allow consumers to use the product and experience it as if they were in their own homes, he said.

Looking at the Pune market, Mr Krishnan added that the city occupied an important place in the overall expansion plans of HP. "As a city, Pune has plenty of industries in the form of BPOs, manufacturing, SME and software. People from these industries are extremely tech-savvy and constantly on the lookout for new technologies and products that are faster and better," he added.

At the Experience Zone, the consumer can touch, feel and experience the product before actually buying it. These stores also help business by tapping demand through their innovative design.

The HP Experience Zone is designed using HP branding on the walls, jazzy demo counters and stylish interiors, which showcase a range of products in various zones. These zones are: Digital Photography, Digital Entertainment, Mobility Solutions, Category Units and Consumer Desktops. All products have been set up to simulate a home environment, he said.

Mr Krishnan said HP is rapidly ramping up its retail operations in the country. At present, the company has 194 exclusive premium retail outlets in the country and plans to open 50 more by the coming year. Pune is expected to have four more outlets by October.

HP's products are available across 1,491 retail outlets, 370 sub-distributors and 273 consumer support and service centres across 104 cities and locations in the country ensuring a nationwide reach of HP products and consumer service facilities, he added.
