Hyderabad , July 4

THE State Government has decided to outsource software solutions from L&T to strengthen its online monitoring of irrigation projects being taken up in the State.

Announcing this here after a review meeting with officials on Monday, Mr Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Minister for Major Irrigation, said the Government had received a suggestion that it use the company solution to make the monitoring mechanism effective.

"We were told that they had evolved a sophisticated software solution to monitor their projects," he said.

With regard to transfer of lands to Forest Department in lieu of those acquired for the projects, the Government has set up a three-member team, comprising officials from Forest, Irrigation and Land Acquisition departments.

The team would monitor and take measures to speed up the process.

Keeping in mind shortage of surveyors, the Government had decided to recruit 500 surveyors.

Besides, the existing surveyors had been asked to work on irrigation projects for at least 10 days in a month.
