Ahmedabad , July 4 WITH flood waters receding and lesser rainfall reported in the last two days, industrial units shut down since June 29 have started resuming normal operations. The Ahmedabad-Mumbai rail link will, however, take another couple of days to restart. In Vadodara, the manufacturing units of Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd, Apollo Tyres and Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Corporation have resumed normal operations. Indian Oil Corporation's Koyali refinery, also at Vadodara, has also commenced normal operations. Workers at the General Motors' plant at Halol have been asked to report for duty on Tuesday. Traffic on NH 8 is also getting back to normal, although the road has been badly damaged. The Ahmedabad-Vadodara National Expressway 1, which runs parallel to NH 8, has been partially opened to traffic. The railway link between Ahmedabad and Vadodara, however, continued to be disrupted as the floods have severely damaged tracks in several places.
