Kolkata , July 7

THE Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) is organising a national meet on rice bran oil on July 29 in the Capital as part of its efforts to popularise the use of the oil as `health oil'.

Mr B.V. Mehta, Executive Director of SEA, said that senior officials from the Union Ministries of Health, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, and Agriculture, and senior scientists from CFTRI, RRL, and other renowned institutes working on the oil and its value-added products, would present their views.

Experts from abroad have also been invited to share their views and expertise on the oil, especially its health aspects.

Some 300 delegates from all over India and abroad are expected to participate in the meet.

The workshop would take up issues such as blending of rice bran oil with other oils and its benefits.
