Airlines Air Deccan releases Re 1, Rs 500 tickets for Sept, October Our Bureau
Bangalore , July 8 AIR Deccan on Friday announced the release of 3,300 tickets priced at Re 1 and 6,500 tickets priced at Rs 500 (excluding taxes) for reservations in September and October. The airline's Managing Director, Mr G.R. Gopinath, said, "An air ticket for Re 1 plus taxes was our promise to the Indians and every release of new set of tickets brings us closer to the dream of empowering every Indian to fly." The airline also announced the opening of bookings on the Internet for September and October. The reservations are open for the Airbus sectors that include Delhi-Bangalore-Delhi, Delhi-Mumbai-Delhi, Delhi-Guwahati-Delhi, Delhi-Chennai-Delhi, Delhi-Hyderabad-Delhi, Chennai-Kolkata-Chennai, and Mumbai-Chennai- Mumbai. Air Deccan low-fare tickets can be booked through its Web site, authorised travel agents, airport counters and 24-hour call centres. The budget airline operates 115 flights a day, with a fleet size of five Airbus A-320s and 12 ATR 42s. It has placed order for 62 new aircraft 32 Airbus A-320s and 30 ATR-72-500s. The new aircraft will be delivered over the next five years and increase Air Deccan's flights close to 600 per day.
