Gold loses lustre; silver shines

Mumbai , July 9

PRECIOUS metals ruled mixed on the local bullion market on Saturday on scattered local buying interest amid stray offerings.

Silver .999-fineness ended Rs 10 up at Rs 10,655 a kg over previous close.

Pure gold .999-fineness ended Rs 5 lower at Rs 6,085 for 10 gram.

Standard mint ended Rs 5 lower at Rs 6,050 for 10 gm.

CHENNAI: Bar silver Rs 10,550 a kg; retail silver Rs 11.25 a g; standard gold Rs 6,125 for 10 g; 22-carat ornament gold Rs 567 a g.

Kolkata: Bar silver Rs 10,500 a kg; standard gold Rs 6,155 for 10 g.
