New Delhi , July 11

GRAPHITE electrodes manufacturer HEG Ltd on Monday commissioned its expanded graphite electrode manufacturing facility at Mandideep, Madhya Pradesh.

The electrode capacity now stands at 52,000 tonnes a year, up 70 per cent from about 30,000 tonnes earlier, a company release said. The company is not adding any additional workforce for the expanded capacity.

According to the release, trial productions at the expanded capacities have begun and the enhanced capacities will start showing results in higher graphite electrode volumes and sales from Q2 of financial year 2006. HEG said it has established a 25 MW captive thermal power plant at the same location and was operating at full capacity.
