YSR praises gangman

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has complimented Bhukya Suryam, the gangman of the South Central Railway, whose alertness saved the lives of hundreds of passengers travelling in the Godavari Express on Sunday.

In a message from Dubai, the CM said Suryam had blasted a detonator on the track to catch the attention of the train driver as the tract at Chinapendyala was damaged and hanging in the submerged floodwaters of the Ghanpur-Naskal section. Ilapaka Chandraiah, his colleague, however, died in the process.
