Ayodhya blast

Instead of arguing about whether there was a security lapse at Ayodhya, our politicians perhaps should ask themselves the following questions:

  • what, if anything, can they do to prevent an Ayodhya-type recurrence

  • whether they could have done or said anything differently at any point of time in the past that might have prevented this blast

  • what they can do, personally and collectively, to ensure efficient, objective, economical, effective, and result-oriented investigation in the shortest time possible

  • what are the root-causes of terrorism in India and how these can be eliminated

  • how they can reduce the ever widening gap between the haves and the have-nots

  • how they can minimise fake custodial deaths and police encounters

  • how they can block national and international funds from reaching terrorists

  • how they can find out if terrorists have infiltrated government departments and agencies, and defence establishments.
