Rlys carries 160 mt freight in April-June

THE Indian Railways has carried 159.98 million tonnes of freight during the first quarter of the current financial year which is 7.17 million tonnes more than the target of 152.81 mt.

The figure shows an increase of 18.72 mt over 141.26 mt actually carried during the corresponding period of last financial year, said a release.

In June, the freight carried was 52.4 mt, up by 2.02 mt against the target of 50.38 mt. This represents an increase of 5.43 mt over 46.97 mt actually carried during June 2004.
