Bangalore, July 12

PROGEON, the business process management subsidiary of Infosys Technologies, reported a 24 per cent growth in revenues to Rs 78 crore over the previous quarter. Net profits for the quarter grew to Rs 24.6 crore.

The company added Ingram Micro to its clientele during the quarter. Progeon is implementing an order management solution for it, said Mr Akshaya Bhargava, Managing Director, Progeon.

The BPO outfit added 773 people during the quarter to take its overall headcount to 4,739 and had a clientele of 19 firms. Attrition at Progeon on the last-twelve-month-basis stood at 35 per cent, Mr Bhargava said.

On the data security issue, which came to the fore recently following the involvement of an employee in breaching data security in a New Delhi BPO firm, Mr Bhargava said Infosys has strong data protection practices and rigid access controls.

``We have tight security practices. Every customer has audited our information security environment."
