Mergers & Acquisitions Bilcare buys US packaging co Our Bureau
Mumbai , July 15 PHARMACEUTICAL packaging company Bilcare Ltd has acquired Pennsylvania-based packaging and research company ProClinical Inc, at an undisclosed cost. The acquisition, done through Bilcare's wholly - owned subsidiary Bilcare Singapore Pte Ltd, catapults Pune-based Bilcare into the "pharma heartland" where about half the world's pharma activity takes place. ProClinical has a facility approved by the US regulatory authorities and will enhance the Rs 160-crore Bilcare's product and services range, besides its technical capabilities. The Chairman of Bilcare, Mr Mohan Bhandari, Bilcare, said in a statement from the US: "With its global facilities in Pune and Singapore, Bilcare has been continuously making efforts to broaden their participation in the pharma knowledge domain. Bilcare takes a significant leap in the pharma value chain, from drug discovery to market, through this US acquisition." ProClinical will also help Bilcare strengthen and expand its business in US through the addition of a premium customer base such as Johnson and Johnson, Astra Zeneca, Bayer, Takeda, Merck etc, besides more than 100 high growth biotech companies such as Genzyme, Progenics among others, a statement issued by Bilcare said.
