US Air official to head IndiGO

THE list of foreign nationals being appointed to key positions including that of Chief Executive Officer in domestic airlines is set to expand.

The new start-up low-cost airline, IndiGO has appointed the Executive Vice-President, Marketing and Planning, US Airways, Mr Bruce Ashby, as its Chief Executive Officer.

The CEO is to take up the position in August this year. The airline is expected to become operational in the next six-to-nine months.

Currently, both the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and CEO of Jet Airways are foreigners, while the existing low-cost airline Air Deccan has chosen a foreigner national from Ryan Air to be its new COO.
