Textile exports to US decline in May

Chennai , July 16

INDIAN exports of textiles and apparels to the US in May were once again below the level achieved in the previous month.

According to the latest figures released by the US Department of Commerce, imports from India in May added up to $ 416 million, compared to $ 425 million in April, a decline of 2 per cent. Imports from China, however, continued to grow, with the May 2005 level ($2 billion) being 13 per cent above the figure for April.
