Air Deccan to suspend flights to Surat from Thursday

Mumbai , July 16

AIR Deccan has decided to suspend its flights from Mumbai to Surat with effect from July 21, due to operational constraints at the Surat airport.

According to an official statement, over the past few months, the low-cost carrier has had to cancel and reschedule its flights to and from Surat due to operational constraints at the airport, including water logging on the runway and poor visibility.

The flights are likely to resume once the upgradation work at the airport is completed. The last flight from Mumbai to Surat would fly on July 20, the statement said.

The airline has deployed a 48-seater ATR 42-500 aircraft on this sector. It operates a daily service between the two cities, with the flight from Mumbai departing at 11.35 a.m. to arrive in Surat at 12.25 p.m. In the return direction, it leaves Surat at 12.50 hrs to arrive in Mumbai at 13.40 hrs.
