`Settlement of family feud likely by Sept'

Our Bureau

Pune , July 17

THE ongoing tussle between Mr Rahul Bajaj and Mr Shishir Bajaj seems to be coming to a close and `the final discussions might end in September''.

Mr Rahul Bajaj, Chairman of Bajaj Auto Ltd, was addressing shareholders at the annual general meeting.

He said initially the five brothers, Rahul, Madhur, Niraj, Shekhar and Shishir, did not want to split but "the elder son of Shishir wants to do business in a different way''.

"When we have different ways of doing business, it is always better to part rather than hang on," he pointed out.

"It is not a question of good or bad but differences of opinion," he said and added that Mr Niraj Bajaj was looking into the settlement and "hope it will get done by September".

He however said that the settlement would not have any effect on any of the other group companies.
