BHEL develops coal-grinding equipment for thermal plants

Our Bureau

New Delhi , July 18

BHARAT Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) today said it has developed the equipment for coal grinding in high-capacity thermal power sets of 660 MW and 800 MW.

The higher capacity `Bowl Mill-BHEL 28' for grinding coal would enable the company to supply the optimum number of mills for future 660 and 800 MW super-critical sets, besides the conventional 500 MW sets, a BHEL release said.

The optimised capacity will result in reducing the number of mills required for thermal power stations, leading to savings in cost and commissioning cycle time.

It will also result in saving of material due to reduction in associated components such as coal piping, bunkers, feeders and motors.
