Global Edge offers ASIC design

Our Bureau

BANGALORE: The Bangalore-based Global Edge Software Ltd, which specialises in embedded system services, has added ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) design to its portfolio of offerings.

Global Edge has tied up with Onyx Semiconductor to jointly develop intellectual property (IP). The ASIC design services group at Global Edge offers the entire range of ASIC development services and IP-related services for radio frequency and power ASIC designs.

Mr N.P. Kumar, CEO, said that the company had already bagged an order for the IP blocks.

"These IP blocks will reduce power consumption in consumer electronic devices like PDAs, mobiles, and gaming devices. They would form building blocks for system on chip (SoC) and help semiconductor vendors in reducing time to market," he added.
