First instalment of fringe benefit tax can be paid till Aug 15

New Delhi , July 18

CORPORATE India and other assessees can now pay their first instalment of the advance fringe benefit tax (FBT) up to August 15 without being subjected to interest on delayed payment. The first instalment of the advance fringe benefit tax was due on July 15.

Acceding to the requests of taxpayers for postponement of deadline, the Finance Ministry said on Monday that interest would not be charged on delayed payment of the first instalment of advance fringe benefit tax up to August 15.
