AP CM reallocates portfolios

Hyderabad , July 21

AFTER keeping several portfolios with himself for 14 months, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Thursday allocated them to his Cabinet colleagues as additional responsibilities.

He also reallocated the Industry portfolio, which fell vacant after Mr Botsa Satyanarayana's shift to Marketing following the Volkswagen fiasco, and those rendered vacant after the resignation of TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) Ministers this month.

Dr J. Geeta Reddy, Minister for Tourism and Sugar, has got Major Industries, Commerce and Export Promotion, while Mr Mohammad Ali Shabbir (Minister for Information and Public Relations) has been assigned with Energy and Coal portfolios.

Ms Sabita Reddy (Minister for Mines and Geology) would hold the additional portfolios of Infrastructure, Investment and Information Technology and Communications.

The other important allocations (with existing portfolios in brackets) are: Mr K. Rosaiah (Finance) - Health, Medical and Family Welfare; Mr Kanna Lakshminarayana (Cooperation) - Transport; Mr Mohammad Fareeduddin (Wakf and Fisheries) - Public Enterprises; Mr Ponnala Lakshmaiah (Major Irrigation) - Medium Irrigation; Mr N. Raghuveera Reddy (Agriculture) - Horticulture, Food, Civil Supplies; Mr Konathala Ramakrishna (Commercial Taxes) - Excise, Prohibition and Law and Courts; and Jakkampudi Ramamohana Rao (Roads and Buildings) - Ports.
