Emirates to begin another Dubai-NY daily non-stop flight

Vimala Vasan

Abu Dhabi , July 21

EMIRATES airline will add a second daily non-stop A340-500 flight from Dubai to North America on November 7, due to the unprecedented success of the initial non-stop service between the two cities introduced in June, 2004.

Operating from Dubai International Airport to JFK airport in New York, the new service, EK203, will leave Dubai at 1:30 a.m. every morning and land in New York at 7:10 a.m. the same day.

Mr Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates' Executive Vice-President, Commercial Operations Worldwide, said: "North America is an important market for Emirates. Passengers travelling to New York from Dubai can now choose to arrive in the American city at either breakfast time or at around lunch time, which gives them far greater flexibility when planning their trips for business or leisure.

While Emirates passengers from New York can arrive in Dubai either early morning or late evening to plan their stay in Dubai or meet onward services with Emirates to Asia, Africa, the Far East, as well as to other destinations in the West Asia, offering reduced layover and overall flying times. "This new service to New York will also increase Emirates' cargo capacity between the two cities.

"The additional flight will see Emirates SkyCargo's tonnage on the route doubled from 15 tonnes to 30 tonnes a day, which offers importers and exporters far greater options when transporting their goods and products between the US and Dubai and onwards around the Emirates network," the Emirates' Executive Vice-President said.

In addition, Emirates SkyCargo also operates twice-weekly scheduled Boeing 747 freighters bringing the total capacity offered in this market to approximately 430 tonnes a week in each direction. Passengers can also take advantage of Emirates Holidays offerings to the US.

In addition to New York, Emirates Holidays also offers packages to Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orlando and Miami.

Travellers visiting US on an Emirates holidays package can also take advantage of a comprehensive travel insurance policy which covers worldwide medical expenses up to $1 million.
