Airlines asked to carry stretcher-borne passengers

Our Bureau

New Delhi , July 22

THE Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has directed all scheduled airlines to make arrangements for carrying stretcher-borne passengers when they receive a request for travel. The DGCA was forced to issue the directive after it was brought to its notice that the facility of carriage by air of stretcher borne passengers is not being provided by some of the scheduled private airlines even on requests supported with medical justifications.
