India, Philippines reach pact on air services

New Delhi , July 22

IN an effort to facilitate the start of air services between India and the Philippines, the two Governments have agreed to allow their airlines to operate daily flights to four major cities in each country.

While the airlines from the Philippines have been given permission to operate to Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, the airlines from India have been allowed to operate to Manila and three other cities that the Indian side can select.

This was agreed to at the conclusion of the air services bilateral talks between India and the Philippines.

The airlines of both nations will be allowed operate through Bangkok and carry passengers from there. The Philippines delegation also showed interest in operating flights to Bangalore and Hyderabad.
