New Delhi , July 22

GLAXOSMITHKLINE Consumer Healthcare Ltd (GSKCH) has registered sales of Rs 275 crore for the second quarter ended June 30, 2005, a 15.8 per cent growth, while profit after tax (PAT) rose 56.4 per cent to Rs 29.1 crore.

For the six-month period, sales stood at Rs 530 crore, an 11.5 per cent growth, while PAT stood at Rs 55.5 crore, a 45.5 per cent growth over the corresponding quarter last year.

According to a company statement, continuing strong sales performance, favourable input prices and wide-ranging cost reduction programme, drives the increase in PAT.

"We are very focused on innovation. It is great to see consumers react so positively to our pipeline of new products," said Mr Nick Massey, Managing Director, GSKCH.
