Travel agents body to hold 4-day meet in Singapore

THE Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) will hold a convention on `Keeping pace with challenging times' in Singapore next month.

The four-day convention, beginning August 11, will discuss the challenges confronting the industry, besides providing a forum for stakeholders to meet and network with other travel industry players.

There will be sessions on `Emerging trends: Legacy airlines vis-à-vis low cost carriers and the travel agent of tomorrow' and `The road ahead: From commission to fee for service', and `The dynamics of Indian tourism'.

TAFI plans to bring out a members' directory comprising info on 800 players. A buyer-seller meet too will be organised.

The convention will be inaugurated by the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Tourism Board, Mr Zakkir Ahmed, the President of TAFI, said here in a press release.

Dr Vijay Mallya, promoter of Kingfisher Airlines; Mr Hunag Cheng Eng, Executive Vice-President of Singapore Airlines; and Mr Udaya Nanayakkara, Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourist Board, will also address the convention.
