Engineering Elgi Equipments Q1 net down 36 pc Our Bureau
Coimbatore , July 24 ELGI Equipments Ltd has reported a lower sale income of Rs 74.9 crore during the first quarter of 2005-06 which is down by some 8 per cent compared to the gross sale generated at Rs 81.7 crore for the same period in the previous fiscal. Its total expenditure during the quarter more or less remaining the same as the corresponding quarter of last year at Rs 63.5 crore (Rs 63.4 crore), the company's net profit had shown a 36 per cent decline at Rs 4.46 crore (Rs 6.97 crore). It has provided Rs 2.35 crore (Rs 4.1 crore) and Rs 16 lakh respectively towards current tax and fringe benefit tax liabilities during the quarter under review.
