Siddha compositions to be digitalised

Madurai , July 25

THE Central Research Institute for Siddha (CRIS) has planned to digitalise about 10, 000 formulae of Siddha compositions with the support of the Government, the CRIS Director, Dr G. Veluchamy, said here.

Mr Veluchamy was speaking at the valedictory function of `Ayush 2005,' a three-day exhibition on traditional medicines organised by the Madurai District Tiny And Small Scale Industries Association.

He said that the digitalised composition would be hosted on the traditional knowledge digital library, which is being set up by the Indian Systems of Medicine And Homeopathy. He added that the centre has brought out a database on medicinal plants in seven volumes with bibliographical references.
