TVS-Electronics Q1 net down

Our Bureau

CHENNAI: TVS-Electronics, the Chennai-based computer peripheral manufacturer, has reported a net loss of Rs 79 lakh on revenues of Rs 52.09 crore for the first quarter ended June 30 compared to net profit of Rs 1.47 crore on revenues of Rs 70.42 crore for corresponding previous period.

A change in the product mix adversely affected the realisation, which resulted in the loss. Concentration on entry-level models in printers and delays in deployment of POS (point-of-sale) terminals by financial institutions led to a drop in revenues, said a company release.

Total expenditure for the quarter was Rs 51.12 crore (Rs 65.39 crore), while interest amounted to Rs 1.29 crore (Rs 1.86 crore) and depreciation and amortisation to Rs 1.81 crore (Rs 1.57 crore).
