Bangalore , July 25

WIPRO'S head of sales for America, Mr Rich Garnick, has resigned. Mr Garnick the second senior executive to leave the company after Mr Vivek Paul, Vice-Chairman and CEO, quit recently.

Wipro in a press release said Mr Garnick had resigned after four years at the company and announced the appointment of Mr P.R. Chandrashekar, who has been leading the European operations as the chief executive of America and Europe.

Mr Garnick said it was "exciting" to have been part of Wipro's tremendous growth in its ability to engage and add value to customers.

"Given this phenomenal growth and the associated travel, I have not been able to spend enough time with my family," he said, adding that the need to focus on his family was the "key driver" for his decision to leave Wipro.

In his earlier roles in the company, Mr Chandrashekar had been responsible for global mergers and acquisitions and channel development. He said North America was the largest market and he was "very excited" by the growth opportunity there.

Mr Chandrashekar will relocate to the US, while working closely with the strong team he leads in Europe, the release said.
