COLGATE-PALMOLIVE (India) Ltd has reported a 10 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 28 crore for the June quarter.

Net sales increased by six per cent to Rs 258.3 crore. Sales were impacted by the discontinuation of toilet bar soaps. If soaps were to be excluded, sales have moved up by nine per cent, the company said in a release.

In volume terms, sales grew by six per cent driven by the toothpaste category. During the quarter, the company re-launched Colgate Total toothpaste and Colgate Super-flexi. It also expanded the liquid soap range with the launch of two variants. These launches have increased the investment in advertising and sales promotion in the quarter to Rs 45.6 crore from Rs 38.9 crore in the year-ago period.
