Strategy Osim India to invest Rs 25 cr for expansion Our Bureau
New Delhi , July 26 OSIM India is planning to invest Rs 25 crore over the next three years in expanding its presence across the country. The company, which deals in lifestyle and healthcare products, has established 21 retail outlets across various parts of the country since its inception in September last year, and plans to reach the 50-outlet mark by 2008-09. Osim India is a part of the Paramount Surgimed Ltd, the master franchisee of Singapore-based Osim International Ltd. Osim's business spans four areas - health, hygiene, nutrition and fitness. Since Foreign Direct Investment is at present banned in retail, Osim International has taken the master franchisee route to service India and Nepal markets, but even if the retail sector is opened up, Osim plans to retain this model, said the Head of International Franchise Mr Eric Kuan. According to him, the company has no plans to set up a manufacturing plant here.Meanwhile, the Osim India Managing Director Mr Shaily Grover said that the company would be using a mixture of debt and equity to fund its planned expansion.
