Move to provide farm goods prices on terminals

Our Bureau

Mumbai , July 26

NATIONAL Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Ltd (NCDEX) , Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa (IARI) and National Collateral Management Services Ltd (NCMSL) have come together to electronically connect rural India by disseminating spot and future agro commodity prices through electronic terminals.

This initiative will benefit sectoral participants in the interior Indian hinterland and is a pioneering step towards integrating rural India.

This electronic platform disseminates real time spot and futures prices to the farmers and weather-oriented information more specific to towns and cities. Continuing the rollout of dissemination of prices through electronic terminals, which already number over 85, one more such key project was launched on Monday in the presence of key functionaries of NCDEX and IARI in the village of Thirpali Badi, district CHURU of Rajasthan. More than 200 farmers participated during the occasion.
