Women workers in a paddy field at Nedumbassery near Kochi. The State Government has initiated a project under which 10,000 hectares of barren land will be leased out to those interested in paddy cultivation. The project, mainly aimed at unemployed youth and self-help groups, has been granted Rs 5 crore by Nabard.
