Rubber prices fall as TOCOM futures end lower

Our Correspondent

Kottayam , July 27

AFTER closing at a record high on Tuesday, spot rubber prices declined on Wednesday.

The selling spree in the domestic scene was initiated by a sharp decline in RSS 3 futures at TOCOM. Though the arrivals continued to be narrow and the weather conditions were still unfavourable for production, sentiments turned extremely negative as all TOCOM futures contracts ended lower at downward flooring.

The NMCE rubber futures weakened. The August contract was quoted at Rs 68.26 (69.31), September Rs 65.30 (66.22), October Rs 62.35 (62.91) and November contract at Rs 61.40 (61.60) per kg for RSS 4.

The prices per kg were as follows: RSS-4: 69 (70); RSS-5: 66.50 (67); Ungraded: 61 (62); ISNR 20: 59.50 (60); and latex 60%: 41 (41).
