Investments in textiles sector

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government will commit further investments in the textiles sector, according to the Industries Minister, Mr V.K. Ibrahim Kunju.

He said this while inaugurating the customer meet and technical seminar organised here by the Centre for Applied Research and Development in Textiles, a division of the Kerala State Textile Corporation Ltd. (KSTC).

The Minister announced that the Chief Minister would inaugurate a Textile Centre in Kannur on July 30 as part of the Textile Centre Infrastructure Development scheme with assistance from the Centre. The Industries Minister commended the KSTC for having turned the corner and posting profits from the last year.

The Managing Director, KSTC, Mr Jacob Joseph, also spoke on the occasion.
