Building designers urged to adopt holistic approach

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , July 28

MR T. Chatterjee, Principal Secretary (Environment, Forests, Science and Technology, Government of Andhra Pradesh), has asked civil engineers to keep in mind the concept of environmental zoning while designing buildings.

Addressing a gathering of students here on Thursday, he advised them to have a holistic approach in designing.

The focus should be on green buildings and environmental audit for buildings. He made these observations at the inaugural of the three-day seminar on `Sustainable technologies in civil and mechanical engineering' organised by the Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology.
