NTPC net rises 24 pc

New Delhi , July 28

NATIONAL Thermal Power Corporation today reported a 24.15 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 1,308.7 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 as compared to Rs 1,054.1 crore for the same period the previous fiscal.

The total income has increased 15.35 per cent to Rs 6,609.5 crore for the first quarter ended June 30 from Rs 5,729.6 crore in the year-ago period, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The stock closed at Rs 94.15 yesterday on the BSE, down from its opening price of Rs 94.75.
