BHEL bags 2 contracts worth Rs 900 cr in Oman

BHARAT Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged two export contracts worth Rs 900 crore in Oman.

The orders are from two power projects to be built on a turnkey basis for Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), a company in which the majority stake is owned by the Oman Government while Royal Dutch Shell, Partex and Total make up for the remaining stake, BHEL said in a press statement.

The orders include setting up of two gas turbine-based projects with 2x126 MW power plant at Mukhaizna and 1x126 MW power plant at Qam Alam, it said. The scope of the project includes design, supply, civil construction and commissioning of the projects and both are to be completed in 23 months time.

With the order, BHEL supplied set will account for 40 per cent of PDO's installed generating capacity, it said.
